Team ThinkOrbital at the IAC 2022

NEWS | JAN 1, 2022

Sebastian Asprella, Vojtech Holub and Lee Rosen at the IAC 2022: Day 1

Beyond the packs of tourists flocking to Paris in September this year, nearly 10,000 stars (from the space industry) visited the 73rd International Astronautical Congress in Paris. After a healthy dose of macaroons to celebrate winning two US Space Force contracts, the ThinkOrbital team was ready to meet partners and engage new customers and investors at the IAC 2022.

Our IAC 2022 delegation included Lee Rosen (ThinkOrbital Board Member), Sebastian Asprella (CEO/Co-founder), Vojtech Holub (CIO/Co-founder) and Veronica Moronese (Director of Legal Affairs). We were hosted at Arizona State University’s booth, our partners for the US Space Force Orbital Prime Phase I effort. The ASU-Thunderbird team joined us in sharing news with visiting media and industry peers on our Orbital Prime win, in partnership with ASU-Thunderbird and Redwire Space (NYSE:RDW). The booth also presented a great opportunity for the ThinkOrbital team to share our ThinkPlatform-2 concept focused on supporting In-space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM) missions.

Veronica Moronese from the ThinkOrbital team also gave two presentations related to space law and policy recommendations to support human exploration of space. Veronica’s papers were titled: Overcoming the Geocentric Perspective to Ensure the Functioning of the Future Space Settlements, and; Considerations on the space debris risk mitigation in the perspective of a human expansion into space.

The team ended their adventure in Paris with a wonderful space industry networking dinner graciously hosted by our friends at HStar Space Transport (thank you Enzo Bleze and Nick Orenstein), while ThinkOrbital CEO also joined the IAC 5K SpaceRun, organized by the Space Athletics Federation and E2MC Ventures’ Raphael Roettgen.

Next year’s IAC event is scheduled to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from October 2-6, 2023.
